Tons of Talent in Trout Parade Line Up
Livingston Manor, May 23, 2008

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY Creative ideas are flowing as Livingston Manor prepares for the 5th Annual Trout Parade, slated for Saturday June 14th. Four groups recently won Creation Awards of $100 - $250 for their winning float and parading ideas, including: WJFF Radio Catskill, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, For Faith Parish, and the Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue. They’ll add their creative flair to the fantastic parade lineup, including a bevy of Basset hounds dressed as trout! The deadline to register your fish-themed entry is June 1st by calling the Lisa at 845/439-5507.

There will be live music on the Main Street stage immediately before and after the parade. So plan on an afternoon in town, where the food and music flows from 12:00 - 3:30pm, with the parade stepping off at 1:00pm.

Making their debut this year are the all-female group Paprika, performing dance music from around the globe, and the Catskill Puppet Theatre, with their amazing puppet classics, including a 15-foot tall wizard and an 8-foot long fish. The crowd-pleasing Hungry March Band will return with their zany blend of musical talent and wild costumes. And this is but a small sampling of the parade line-up for 2008. Video installations in Main Street windows will also be announced shortly, so stay tuned.

This Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event raises funds to benefit the Livingston Manor Central School’s art and music programs through business and individual donations and the sale of parade t-shirts and posters. For more information, contact parade Co-Chair Lisa Lyons at Morgan Outdoors 845/439-5507 or check out www.troutparade.com.
