More Fishy Fun Announced for Trout Parade
Livingston Manor, June 01, 2008

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY The long list of talent in the 5th Annual Trout Parade on June 14th just got longer. Joining the all-female group Paprika, performing dance music from around the globe, the Catskill Puppet Theatre, with puppet classics like 15’ tall wizards and the Hungry March Band from Brooklyn with their fabulous percussion and wild costumes, the Forestburgh Playhouse players will perform excerpts from their season opener “Forever Plaid” and the Mountain Tones will add rousing community band flair. Kicking off on Main Street at 12:00pm, the Bio-Diesel String Band will warm up the crowd with old-time acoustic music until the parade steps off at 1:00pm. Immediately following the parade, the Hungry March Band and Paprika will keep the live music flowing on the Main Street stage until 3:30pm – so plan on a relaxing afternoon of free fun! A parade schedule and map can be easily downloaded at www.troutparade.com and will be available on parade day on Main Street.

As part of the 5th annual Trout Parade, the Outsider's Studio presents "Monitors on Main", an installation of video works in selected storefronts in downtown Livingston Manor featuring video artists Glenn Church, Claire Coleman, M. Henry Jones and James Karpowicz. These installations, along with inspired artwork from LMCS students, will be on view in several storefronts on June 14th. The video pieces range in style from aquatic abstraction to fishy and funky animation. So leave time to stroll through town and enjoy Trout Parade Fever.

This is but a small sampling of the parade line-up for 2008. Did you hear there will be a bevy of Basset hounds dressed as fish?! Yes, it’s true!

This Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event raises funds to benefit the Livingston Manor Central School’s art and music programs through business and individual donations and the sale of parade t-shirts and posters. For more information, contact parade Co-Chair Lisa Lyons at Morgan Outdoors 845/439-5507 or check out www.troutparade.com.
